THE CRUEL PRINCE by HOLLY BLACK
I picked up this book because readers were raving about it and I wanted to see what the hype was about; I was not disappointed! Great characters, especially the heroine. She had a morally grey vibe going on that was unpredictable which I love in a main character. It was well-written and I enjoyed the plot because Fae, obviously. I gave four stars not five because I would have liked to see a bit more romance woven through since I picked it up as a Fantasy Romance which gave me th e expectation of more. It also took me a couple of chapters to get into but the later chapters more than made up for the lull. Looking forward to reading the next book and definitely recommend.
FOREVER MINE by KENNEDY FOX
Great second chance romance. This was a free novella I got by signing up to the Kennedy Fox Newsletter and as far as free books go, it was amazing. I enjoyed the witty banter of Savannah and the cinnamon roll hero that Hayden was. The plot was engaging and I found it a quick, fun, easy read. I gave it a 3.75 stars because there were a few typos, not heaps but enough to pull me out of the story. The other reason was a personal taste thing; I find it hard to read in present tense or first person. This book was both those things but like I said that is a personal preference. One or the other, I probably could have done the four stars but since it was both, I went with just under. That said, it was free and was still enjoyable as far as plot, characters and writing goes.
